Since 2013 wrapped up,I have decided to change things up.I
know that a lot of people write their resolutions and set out so many goals (more than they can handle) but I don't like to do that as I mentioned
previously.Nonetheless, when I reflected on the past year,I hated the flashbacks
that I had.It was a good year don't get me wrong,a lot has happened but the way I
lived it or the years before it,it's not how I want to continue living this
year.I want the number one thing that everybody wants : I want to be happy but
not the kind you know of,I want to apperciate my life, myself and the air that I
breath.I want to deeply feel it in my core.I want to work on myself to be the
best person that I can be.In one word,to cleanse...
The first step that I took this year and I have been doing
this since January is to be thankful of the little things.Every night before I
sleep, while tucked in bed,I recite everything that I am thankful for that day and the smallest achievements I made. Those
little things that just pass us by and we take for granted.I think about them
and how they put a smile on my face or how they made that awful day just a tiny
bit more brighter. Then I go through all the things that I'm excited for
tomorrow,it could be just one thing so at least you'll be sure that you will
get out of your cosy cosy bed the next day.
I have been doing this for more than a month, especially on a
very bad day.And I have been noticing a huge difference :I have been feeling
good,appreciating the little moments and
what I possess and actually enjoying them, getting to know myself a little while
digging through my memories and finding out what makes me happy the most.
And I have to share the most valuable moment of my days
which is when a stranger smiles or says good morning to me or does something
kind.It might sound creepy or naïf but that simple act,can bright up my day instantly
and revive my hope for humanity.
All in all, this is the first step of many to be taken this
year and I hope you'll join me on this journey.I highly recommend to start
bettering yourself while you still can.
